No I don't think Anet would ever go back in time with a story. Perhaps.
|
I also dont think they would ever go back in time for certain ingame reasons - plus they already have issues with the gap between Nightfall and the first two chapters. I was just suggesting if they ever did try to go back in time with the story i am guessing it would be around the time of the bloodstones being forged.

I dunno, im really hoping for more jungle stuff. Maybe Druid profession with a lot of form type magic. The druids have disappeared from Tyria 100-200 years previous. Maybe they migrated to the northern lands or west.
Druid would be cool, possibly have a lot of forms like the Dervish Avatar's. Morph into jungle animals with their skills or something, like a cross between the Junundu.
|
I wonder what lies west of the Magumma Jungle
And i think the idea of a profession that would allow you to become a animal like a wolf would be excellent class. Maybe it could expand into greater lore with Melandru (who appears to be the only god who does not seem to do much).

Maybe actually going into the Mursaat's homeland?
We hear that the homeland is there, shrouded by some mysterious force. So a storyline taking us there actually is not be a bad idea.
As to where its set, I would love a Norse theme.

Thing is Norse, was pretty much done with the Shiverpeaks type areas. And Norse Mythology is very much based around its gods, and its ideals of life/afterlife and so on, but with the five gods already set up in Guild Wars, It would be very difficult to set it all up.
Saying that. If Anet could pull it off nicely, I would enjoy it. I liked the Shiverpeaks a lot. (Not as much as Maguuma though! )
Druid : I'd love the ability to take the form of certain animals, Obviously the forms would have to be either Elite skills or only allow one skill to turn you into the other forms at a time.
Personally I'd be a Moa. All the time.

If we did i am guessing we would not be welcome since we helped destroy most if not all of their race. Also a chapter featured in the Mursaats homeland would mean new players would start out as the actual Mursaat race (since humans living in a Mursaat led land does not sound right)

Some ideas for a Norse them game:
It would not have to be all snow/mountains. Starter Island could be like the Brittish isles, with rolling hills and temprate climate. One area could be dense forrest, possibly evergreen forrest. Another could be mountains of course. And frozen tundra.
Some points from Norse Mythology that would be fun to play with include thier legends of giants (cant remember the races name) that fought wars with the gods. There is also the Banshee legends and legends of the Fay, or Fairy people, that were prevelant in far northern Europe.

I was thinking more in terms of just visiting his homeland, it could be a part of the whole campaign.

Figure this...Prophecies (Europe), Factions (Asian), and Nightfall (African)...which can only mean...AUSTRALLIA! A Net takes WOW's idea of riding animals and we get to ride kangaroos.

Chapter 4 takes place in a public bathroom in Mexico City. Cuccarachas and crackheads fight for the prime handicap stall and ou have to muscle your way in between the conflict to flush the clogged toilet of destiny. May I introduce Guildwars: Blightstall!

I'm sorry but an Australian Guild Wars would be exactly the same as Nightfall.
Australia has massive open plains..a forest..and well not exactly a Desolation, But there is a giant red rock.
South American ftw. Minus the Drug problems.

It will be set in the future, with lots of robots and AI. There will be a plague of player characters all with the number "8" branded on their foreheads for some inexplicable reason ("4" in the starter areas). They often stand around silently in the outposts, apparently unwilling to talk. Except the traders who only know "WTS!"
Eventually Terminators will turn up and play the game for you, muttering about how everybody else sucks (end sarcasm)

I am still sticking by my thoughts that it has SOMETHING to do with Lord Odran. I still think that something happened after he got destroyed by the spirits of the Rifts. If there is a whole undead thing, I'm thinking he might have somehow got ressurected and is leading an army. Some are speculating North of Tyria as the setting. If that is the case, then I think you will see the city of Drascir. If I remember my lore correctly, after the Exodus of the Gods, the Gods then went to dwill in the rift. I think after everything with Abaddon, he ressurected Lord Odran to somehow close the rift so that he could gain power over the others (since he was brilliant enough to pass through as a mortal the first time). It's just my thought. It will be interesting to see what comes up.
